Physical Therapist

I chose physical therapy as a profession because I strongly believe in the concept of healing and improving one’s health through non-medicinal means. Traditionally, physical therapy tends to be focused on people in pain or dealing with some form of ailment, which requires the expertise of a physical therapist. There is some frustration with this in that there is often a way to prevent the injury or situation, but the physical therapist is not involved at that point. On-Site Solutions is unique in that the physical therapist is involved with employees in their work setting regularly and prior to injury and can meet them where they are in their own health journey. The physical therapist can use his/her skill set to educate and help prevent an injury, as well as decrease the likelihood of a minor issue becoming a more serious condition. Being on site allows the physical therapist to observe employees while performing work tasks and to completely understand the steps involved in these tasks. This comprehensive understanding allows the physical therapist to offer suggestions and ideas to keep employees safe and free from injury. There is an important collaboration between the physical therapist, the safety team, and the employees to implement these ideas. On-Site Solutions’ proactive and innovative approach allows employees to stay healthier in their work setting, which positively impacts their life outside of work as well. I appreciate the opportunity to work for a company that is promoting physical therapy as a form of preventative care, as part of our scope of practice.
