Joan brings over 25 years of experience in occupational therapy to the team. Her studies at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee incorporated both therapy and engineering, leading her into the field of ergonomics. As a consultant, she worked with Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies in assessing workplaces and developing programs to decrease injury risk, improve employee education, and develop ergonomic improvements meeting goal ROI and improving productivity. In the clinic, Joan focused on treatment of shoulder and UE injuries, scapular dyskinesia, balance, fall reduction, and work-related injuries. She has extensive experience in managing workers compensation cases from insurance, employer, healthcare, and employee perspectives. Joan is passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise to improve the lives of her clients.
Joan is a licensed occupational therapist and Certified Ergonomic Associate with the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics. She participated in two NIOSH studies and looks forward to developing new research projects and presenting at a national level.
In her spare time, Joan is working on her Occupational Safety and Ergonomics Graduate Certificate at Auburn University, enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, riding horses, working on her antique car collection, and cooking.
